Mt Summit Lake Lodge private vacation rental

Conveniently located on highway 36 between the village of Mt. Summit, Indiana and Summit Lake State Park, you’ll find your next great escape. Mt Summit Lake Lodge is a four-bedroom, two-bath Cape Cod house nestled on nearly five acres of rolling forested hills with plenty of room for gathering inside and out. Glass patio doors open to a sizable partially covered deck overlooking a fishing pond.

Lodge at the Summit - reservations required

It’s just a quick trip down US Highway 36 to daily essentials in either direction, but you’ll feel as if you’ve landed in a mountain lodge with views of mature oak, maple, hickory and pine from every extended window in every direction and a half-mile of mulched walking trails to explore.

Northern cardinals, tufted titmouse, golden finch, blue jays and more make Lodge at the Summit a bird-lover’s paradise. If you wake up early, you may catch ducks in the pond or deer foraging the forest. If fishing is more your style, feel free to enjoy the complimentary fishing poles and equipment to catch large mouth bass or catfish (if you’re lucky) in the pond out back. We’re catch-and-release only, but Summit Lake State Park is less than five minutes east on Highway 36 where you’ll also find two bait shops with plenty of gifts, gear and things you might need. Please note that fishing anywhere off the property requires a proper fishing license.

If you head west to Mt. Summit you’ll find some of the best pizza ever at 1000 Degree wood fired pizza, along with rooms and décor that will keep your eyes exploring the entire meal. You’ll find a gas station, dollar store and some other small shops as well including a furniture store and boutique. There’s also a post office – the biggest building on the north side of town, where Kris and several others in town volunteer as fire fighters. Thank you for keeping us safe!
