Surrounding areas

We’re still exploring….and putting together the guide to tell you all about it!

In the meantime, know that we have wineries, family farm stands and numerous protected wildlife areas to enjoy the outdoors within 15 minutes.

New Castle, Anderson, Pendleton and Muncie are 10-25 minute drives for gambling, entertainment, restaurants, museums and more.

Indianapolis and Ft. Wayne are 60-90 minutes away for all sorts of cultural outings and events too numerous to mention.

A frequent destination for out of town guests is Harrah’s Casino in Anderson. We like to go in the morning to avoid the crowds and make a stop at Starbucks across the street either before or after. And if you have friends with a sense of humor or Instagram and TikTok visitors to entertain, they’ll get a kick out of Uranus Farm. For all the obvious reasons and many more.

Morst Reservoir and Geist Reservoir are beautiful but busy lakes about an hour’s drive away. Both provide excellent options for the classic Indiana lake-side dining experience. Our favorite is the Boat House Kitchen and Swan Dive in Cicero.

Destinations for lunch, shopping and other entertainment abound. Be sure to check out options in Pendleton, Broad Ripple and even Yellow Springs, Ohio – near Dayton. Or try visiting the Lost Bridge Beverage Company located at the historic Carriage House Farm near the Ohio River to buy fresh, local vegetables and spirits and listen to live music.

Interested in archealogy and history? This is the former home of the mound builders of the Eastern regional woodlands. Check out Mounds State Park in Anderson for a quick tour or make it a full day trip to Ohio and visit the World Heritage Site Hopewell National Historic Park.
